There is precedent for this kind of indiscriminate billing, BOK. I refer of course to Hetherington-Smythe V Sheehan Lutteral O'Callaghan who in 1873 was sued for inducing wear on the teeth of Hetherington-Smythe by having the nerve to attempt to discuss his case during a cricket match at Lords. Ref: Court report 1875 (as it took two years to get to trail) 18 L.R.I. 355. Needless to say Hetherington Smythe won his case and achieved recovery of all costs against the unfortunate Sheehan Lutteral O'Callaghan. The court also permitted Hetherington Smythe to withdraw with liberty to re-enter. Eeeeek! Following the decision, Sheehan Lutteral O'Callaghan left the country in a leaky boat, taking his chances in getting to america where he set up a law firm of his own!
