Posted on Sunday, July 9, 2006What the fuck was that? Did you ever see anything like it in your life?
I want to say this officially. From now on, I’m sticking with the rugby, bacause the soccer is simply bullshit.
What the fuck was Zidane thinking of? And what did Matarazzi say to him that made him go crazy?
It’s lunacy, and I want no more to do with it. The focus as of now is on Twickenham, and let’s forget about these fannydancers for another four years.

Stick with rugger old chap because you obviously don’t know much about football. Zinedene Zidane was a genius. (Sadly, we have to use the past tense.) He won a World Cup for France, he won a Champions League title for Real Madrid and he inspired millions to play the beautiful way. Left foot, right foot, headers, killer passes, ‘ghosts’ through a defence; a talent that inspired ordinary team mates to greatness. He had fourteen red cards in his career, a lot of them as a result of being chopped by Italian thugs. On Sunday we saw a player react to too much pressure, and we witnessed anger born in the slums of a Western Europe that judges a man by his race rather than his humanity. He was wrong, of course. But try a bit of understanding, Mr Bock. Then tell me the name of a rugby player that has inspired so much love and riddle me how a game that is based on muscle compares with with a game that can accommodate a solitary genius who can captivate the world?

Hello Gull. Good to hear from you again.
Perhaps I don’t know much about soccer. You’re probably right. However, you’re not doing much better than me if you think Limerick people are involved with anything like “rugger”. (Old chap). And you’d need to reconsider if you think rugby is based solely on muscle, because then you’d be missing out on one of the great team sports.
However, moving on to the main point of your post, I think you’re being very hard on me. Perhaps this is because you missed previous posts concerning the great Zinedine Zidane, but if you take a look, you can see what I said about him in the past.

I hope you’ll have a look, and perhaps feel less aggrieved.
Best wishes
