Posted on Friday, April 13, 2007I’ve just watched Pat Kenny interviewing Bill O’Reilly, and I have to admit it isn’t really clear to me what just happened. Was that the finest piece of satire ever to appear on Irish television, or the worst example of scum-sucking obsequious arse-licking you’ve seen in your life?
Who’s Bill O’Reilly? Well, Bill is a big-time American broadcaster who thinks that killing 655,000 Iraqis is the best way to bring them freedom. Pat, on the other hand, is a small-time Irish broadcaster who maybe has his eye on greater things.
So back to the question. Interviewing Bill O’Reilly.
On the one hand you have a guy who thinks a chimp should be president of the USA, and on the other you have, well, Pat Kenny.
Great work Pat.

For a while there Kenny’s entry on Wikipedia said ‘widely regarded as being the most boring person in broadcasting’ Some fool since removed it.

Which is quite patently silly, as we all know that the best way to bring the Iraqis freedom is to kill all of them.

Bill O Reilly is a self important, self righteous voice to the conservative (Republican) movement in the US. He has a huge fan base and the scariest part of all is that many Americans (those who only get their news and current affairs from the traditionally right leaning Fox Network) take his voice as gospel. Darwin is right on with the anti O’Reilly sites listed above.
I am from Limerick, live in NY and my god - but I detest Bill O Reilly. In all fairness, O’Reilly as a big mouthed and offensive commentator and must have walked all over the most boring broadcaster in Ireland.
