That, my friends, is what setting up a WordPress site is like. In the long run, it's probably a lot better than Blogger, but it's a serious pain in the arse, and if it wasn't for the likes of Dickler, Eolai, Primal Sneeze, Squid and Kav, I would be raving bonkers by now, and no use whatever to the blogging world. (No. Please don't say it).

This is why I have stuck with the pre-made WordPress. I practice my swearing enough as it is so I don't need to practice swearing at my laptop too.

Bock, lest you discourage some innocent enthusiastic folk, we should let them know that it is possible to get with no fuss the impressive washing machine in plain white with all parts and functions working.
Things just start getting complicated when you try to put on a multi-coloured door, and then reverse the hinges, and add that something to muffle the sound.
But if you stay with the default implementation it's as click-click easy as Blogger, and if you don't stray too far into weird and wonderful themes, it's pretty much as easy as switching templates in Blogger. Unfortunately you may not find this out until after your head hurts.
True, Eolai, if they stay with WP.com, which is what any sane person should do.

And one's own domain too Bock. Mr Mulley has the out of the box model and it's not on WP.com – it's very comparable to running Blogger on your own domain, as opposed to on BlogSpot
But yes the urge to play with options, possibilities, dreams even, can prove irresistible.
