Tony Blair’s New Job

Jun 27th, 2007 | By Bock | Category: Politics, war

Tony Blair is going to be appointed Peace Envoy to the Middle East.

He’s going to represent something calling itself the Quartet of Mideast peace mediators: the USA, the EU, the UN and Russia.

Hold on a minute, I hear you shout. Are we talking about the same Tony Blair?

I don’t know.

Is this the Tony Blair who was responsible for inflicting an invasion and savage civil war on Iraq?

It is.

The same Tony Blair who insisted Saddam had WMD and stood shoulder to shoulder with Dubya in defence of that gigantic lie?

That’s right.

The same Tony Blair who presided over the occupation of a country which had never attacked either the US or Britain?

Certainly.

And that Tony Blair is the man they are now going to appoint as Peace Envoy to the Middle East?

The same individual.

These days, you see, words mean whatever we want them to mean.

War is Peace.

  1. He’s received a ‘higher’ calling. Like, er, John Bruton.

  2. Well he was appointed by his ole buddy Georgie.

‘What me?. No, that was the old Tony. I’m the new improved, don’t have the weight of runnin’ a whole country on my shoulders anymore, this time I really care, Tony Blair.’

    Yeah, you’re still a cunt.

  3. Ol’ Tones has learned a thing or two from our Bertie, nach ‘ea?
    Pukifying stuff!

  4. There is nothing peaceful about Tony Blair

  5. Tony will explain to them how they simply must be more reasonable. The Shia and the Sunni must sit down and quietly discuss their differences in a civilized manner. The Palestinians should forget about the land they lost and build homes for Israeli settlers.

  6. some tea, perhaps?

  7. It’s not so different from dealing with the Irish really. Beat the crap out of them for a few years and they eventually see reason.

  8. It’s also the same Tony Blair who with the US blocked a UN call for a ceasefire after Israel invaded Lebanon last year — thereby giving the Israelis an extra two weeks to bomb the shit out of the place and shower it with cluster bombs.
What on earth makes the fools think that the Palestinians would trust him as far as they could throw him?
    His blatant pro-Zionist behaviour?
    His fake smile?

  9. Doesn’t he know himself what he did? Has his memory failed him along with his integrity?

Then again an envoy is just a messenger, so he is becoming a messenger for peace, from the very bodies that have inflicted, directly and by acquiescence, war on the Middle East.

Maybe he’s the perfect person for such an illogical and absurdly immoral position?

  10. I don’t think an individual reply is in order here.

This guy has bombed the shit out of a country that never attacked him – regardless of how personally offensive its leader was.

He should be in front of the tribunal at the Hague, like any other war criminal.

(I’ll try not to hold back in future.)

  11. He’ll scare the shit out of them. It might just work…
