Crap - That’s a lot of reading. I’m not sure I’m up to this challenge. A ton of work in order to become an informed voter. (I guess I should be used to that.)
Maybe I’ll just do what Americans like me do best, and vote for what I’m already comfortable with?
Gotta say, though, you Irish blog like nobody’s business.
Oh, wait - I don’t have to vote this time! Yea, me!
If my vote counted, it would be:
You (obviously)
Gimme (Stranded on Gaia)
Devin (Hangar Queen)
Meabh (Dante and the Lobster)
and the recent darkhorse.. K8 the Gr8 (her recent post on how to sweep a chimney was fabulous…). But I didn’t see her on the list?
What’re the rules?
January 31st, 2008
[…] I have to say I’m very surprised, but delighted. In fairness, there are about 50 others too including many that reside on the front page of my RSS reader and who I read regularly. But I am thrilled to be in such good company. So get on there, and vote. […]

I’ll be waiting in the wings for you, pitchfork in hand, secretly plotting your downfall … then again I’ll just be there getting pissed.
January 31st, 2008
Well ive already voted Bock and yourself and Cheebah got the nod for several categories..
Great to read such entertaining and informative stuff from both blogs that more than match up to the competition..
January 31st, 2008
Jazuz. Would you look at that, twenty is sitting on top of us all already. That’s just plain cocky. We’ll have to gather together and drag him down to our level.
January 31st, 2008
Fuck me, is that all of them?
January 31st, 2008
Congrats to you Bock.
January 31st, 2008
A room….ffs, Croke Park should be hired. A readymade black-market for tickets judging by that list.
btw, why doesn’t it include anyone who has put his pecker into Archbishop Sinead (once) or written Eurovision ditties? Does Madam Editor and her stof still disapprove of the Blogiversity thing?
January 31st, 2008
CamSavWin: Dunno. For transparency, the rules are kept secret.
73man: As long as you don’t bring any of your Muslim pals to stone me …
Bigphil: Thanks Mammy (did you get the €50 I sent?)
Travors: Down?
BD: That’s them. All.
Ash: Thanks.
Hoof: Because Madame Editor has had a bad case of misery for the last forty-five years, has no sense of humour and is a sour old control freak.
Blogging anarchy would be anathema to Madame Editor. (Unless you wrote something about the joy of phone-tapping …)
January 31st, 2008
Blimey. That’s the one and only time I’ll ever be in the same list as people like you and Twenty. Congrats!
January 31st, 2008
That’d be just savage behaviour Bock.
January 31st, 2008
I’m going out to look for a new dress today so I don’t look too shabby amongst all the cool bloggers.
Cheers, Bock.
January 31st, 2008
English Mum: I don’t know why you say that. We might make a list of people we were glad to meet and you might be on that too.
73man: That’s what I’m afraid of.
Medbh: Well if you do that, you’ll stand out. If I were you, I’d buy something worn and frayed.
January 31st, 2008
Uh uh Sweetie…
I”m dress shopping this week-end.Although I’d say Medbh and I will stand out for wearing shoes.
Incidentally should I pick you up something sassy for the Ladies Tea Party?
January 31st, 2008
I already have something worn and frayed, and I’m planning to wear and fray it.
Good for you Mister Bock. May your list get shorter and you stay on it.
January 31st, 2008
May your list get shorter … “
Old Navajo blessing?
February 1st, 2008
Yes, but never said to the listless
February 1st, 2008
Bock: how gentlemanly! There’s a drink in it for ye at the awards (if 73 hasn’t already drunk it all).
February 1st, 2008
Twenty has this all sown up. Unless of course he has an “accident” before then. Did I say that out loud?
February 1st, 2008
Sinéad: That’s a bit unfair now. The reason Twenty will win is because he’s a much better writer than the rest of us.
February 1st, 2008
Exactly. That’s why the rest of can all bugger off to the bar when they announce Best Blog. It’s T’s for sure, and well deserved it is too.
February 1st, 2008
It certainly is well deserved. He’s possibly the finest writer this world has ever known, in any medium.
To be honest, I don’t know why they have a Best Blog category at all. They should just face the reality that there isn’t a blogger living who’s one-tenth as good as Twenty Major, and make it a permanent award to him.
With an annual award ceremony, of course.
