Posted on Thursday, January 31, 2008What can you say about this?

(Thanks to Medbh at Dante and the Lobster).
This seems like a plastic Jesus moment, though I know we’ve had them before, but anyway, here’s Billy Idol.
Thanks to Sam Problemchildbride for prompting that.
Then of course, in a similar vein, we have this:

Oh.
Jesus wept…
…afterwards, with a cigarette.
But being the son of God’s a demanding job, Bock, what’s wrong with him wanting to switch off from it all from time to time? And then turned on, and then switched off again in rapid succession? He is the Light Of The World, affer alls.

Sam, you’ve just given me an idea. Let’s have Paul Newman again. what do you reckon?
Or maybe something even weirder.

Better a bobble-headed saviour than one featuring a bobble-penis, which the *ahem* light switch suggests.

Gavin Glass was playing Dolan’s tonight. I notice he uses the same picture on his myspace page.

I remember “Plastic Jesus” playing on the radio during the early 80’s when I was stationed on a submarine down in Norfolk, VA. It had a real country twang to it and reminded me of early Cat Stevens or Arlo Guthrie and I know it was someone like that singing it but for the life of me I can’t remember who it was. I hate that!
Seems like everyone and his mother sang that song so there’s no telling now.

Plastic Jesus is from Cool Hand Luke sung by the dude with the sweetest blue eyes ever…Paul Newman. Christ had died, Christ has risen. Christ will come again…. so look busy.
