Quiz Night: The Curse of the Gerbil-Woman

Posted on Friday, February 8, 2008

Well feck!

We didn’t win, and I hate it when we don’t win, but at least these maniacs made up for the crushing disappointment.

Assisted by suitably cheesy musical accompaniment from this maniac:

And with questions set by these two:

The organising committee were mostly too shy to be photographed except:-

It’s amazing what you can get people to do when there’s a spot-prize to be won.

One competition was to complete this line:

In Limerick on Valentine’s Day …

Now, you know how it goes. You fill in the next four lines, da-da da-da-da da-da-da., Right?

So what do you make of this entry?

In Limerick on Valentine’s Day, I would love to go to dinner in the Glentworth hotel then go to a pet shop to buy the gerbil my boyfriend had bought and called after me.

Jesus, after that you’d need a drink.

So who won? And what crucial Qs did you get wrong? And wait now, isn’t that what’s her name?

Speaking of spending Valentine’s in Limerick….. We’ve had a very, very rough couple of weeks hereabouts. (Illness, redundancy and a serious threat to our home…. It has been hard and will be harder) To cheer us up a bit, my darling children just gave hubby and I a Valentine’s Card and booking details they’ve organised for their daddy and I to go off for a BB and dinner to your own part of Munster, Bock!! We’re thrilled, but they’re only young and have no money, so we’re feeling guilty but very proud and happy too. Everything else can go to Hell - my darlings are something to behold!

Mairéad: I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulties, but you seem to have good reason for pride as well. I hope your visit to our town works out as well as your children intended. Let us know how you get on.

Oh, these pics make me even more excited for the Irish Blog Awards, Bock.
And when you’ll be looking for my horns and tail as I buy you a pint.
    Hee.
