Look.  These are a crowd of bastards.

Entire neighbourhoods have been bulldozed to make way for these Olympics and thousands of people have been kicked out of their homes to die of starvation.

Is that what you want?  Is that what you’ll be thinking when they light that flame?

Will you be thinking, Isn’t it great those people were forced out on the streets so we can watch this ceremony?

Don’t support it.  Don’t be an accomplice.

Tibet has been raped by these bastards.  This Chinese government doesn’t give a shit about human rights as long as they look good in the Olympics and the only reason they got the Olympics in the first place is because our government wants to do business with the murdering fuckers.

Don’t support them.

Tell them to fuck off.

Boycott the fuckers.  They’re a crowd of crooks.

This is their website.  Send them an email telling them what a crowd of crooks they are.  You wouldn’t be able to do that if you lived in China or Tibet because their goons would beat you up and stick you in jail.

Olympics my arse!

a sports fan are you????????? sigh -what proof do you have????????? or just another asian basher?? -fuck off man

  2.

Look! It’s the first abusive fool!

  3.

…..the only reason they got the Olympics in the first place is because our government wants to do business with the murdering fuckers….

Bock – you’re a sound fella but are you really tellin’ me that the only reason China was awarded the accolade of hostin’ the Olympics is because Bertie wants to import cheaper Christmas decorations????

But having been a bit of a Pedantic Pat there yes, I do agree with you. Their treatment of Tibet alone is enough….

  4.

    All right. Western governments.

  5.

Any country that takes part in these fucking Olympics is making a sham of the notion of human rights. I totally agree Bock. And when Speilberg pulled out I almost forgave him for the CGI ET.

  6.

    Well said.

  7.

china holds too much paper on the west, sugar! no country will boycott, but i wouldn’t be surprised if individual athletes did. btw, i didn’t take your post as china bashing either! ;-)

  8.

You’re talking about the first comment by that idiot? He’s just a fool.

  9.

Spot on the money, Bock. Hit the Chinese where it hurts by boycotting their genocide Olympics:
    http://skinflicks.blogspot.com/2008/03/lhasa-is-burning.html

  10.

Bock – I’m with you on this. The only way to advance human rights for the Chinese and the Tibetans is to deny this vile regime its moment in the Sun! Sport is not about politics but if our athletes participate in this sham then they are making a political statement and by their actions condoning a murderous and corrupt administration. Not holding my breath but the churches should be making a noise about this!

  11.

Re:Marks comment.. How do you Justify murder and displacing thousands of your own people for the sake of a 2 week event?..Take the fucking blinkers off you moron.

Bock spot on.Its only unfortunate that for alot of young athletes this would be there best oppurtunity to compete at an Olympics so they cannot be condemed for not boycotting but i do think that it would be a peaceful protest by certain states to pull out of the Games ..Its not gonna happen though..money talks alot more than the sound of suffering..

  12.

OD is right. Bantamweight John Joe Nevin was on Newstalk this morning, and he doesn’t care about the situation in Tibet because he’s “not into the politics” and would hate for “some politician” to stop him going. Thick cunt.

  13.

I wish they would move the steroid-drugfest…aka the Olympics permanently to Athens and do away with this type of horseshit, which in this case is costing tens of thousands of people their homes and livelihood.

It’s too bland for athletes and others to say “It has nothing to do with sport”. Well if my entire neighbourhood was levelled to accommodate the building of a Stadium, and I was given 24 hours to pack up and go fuck myself so some fuelled up pack of addicts wanted to run around what they put up on it for two weeks, I just might get a bit pissed off and tend to disagree.

As for what’s going on in occupied Tibet, those vindictive pricks will wait until the five-ringed circus has passed through before exacting full retribution for the rising of this week.

Boycotting the Olympics is one thing, but we should be thinking twice about trading with this regime.

  14.

Publicly, I will be boycotting the Olympics because of China’s appalling human rights record

Privately, I’m just using it as an excuse to skip the whole dreary thing

  15.

I have to say I whole heartedly agree… Anyone see the article on skynews about them capturing dogs and putting them in cages then clubbing and stabbing them to death before skinning and eating them.. sounds horrendous. Maybe is it poverty Id ont know but thats just appauling. Their human rights are the worst in the world. Currently no media is allowed into China. Saying all this i will still watch the Olympics.. who can resist?

  16.

    Boycott the 2008 Olympics? DONE
Boycott the sponsors and their products? DONE….
    anything else?

  17.

No. That’ll bring them to their knees.

    Thanks.

  18.

The problem now of course – once ye all have had yer fill of self righteous moral indgnation – is that if the 2008 Olympics are boycotted it will lead to even more suffering for Tibet.

It is way to late to boycott the Games.

The Hoof half hit the nail on the head above when he pointed out that the Chinese will exact retribution on Tibet once the Olympics are over.

True, but imagine what they will do if the Tibetans are responsible for getting the Olympics shelved…???

Likewise, best not be calling for a boycott least it leads to even more suffering. Be carefull what you wish for….

China should never have been give the Games, true. Maybe a solution would be to build a permanent Olympic villiage in the Games ancestral home in Athens and hold the Olympics there every four years, minus the automatic qualification quota for the hosts.

The comment about Cavan bantamweight John Joe Nevin above is disgusting. This 18 year old has sweated blood, sweat and tears for his country in trying to qualify, eventually doing so after beating a world number six in Italy last month.

Journalists are trying to set this kid up by asking him questions about Tibet, and if he plays along they’ll splash it all over the front page “Irish Olympian KO’s Chinese conduct in Tibet” etc etc

Meanwhile, the piece about the dogs being slaughtered is harrowing yes, but hey, do ye all know how pigs are slaughtered in this country.

They are hung up and have their throats slit to “bleed them” and then lobbed into a furnace to burn the hair of their skins, no hairy bacon please”, a lot of them are still alive, I have been informed.

The only thing the slaughter houses don’t sell is the squeal.

Should I mention how lobster is boiled alive in resteraunts..and the lamb meat in our kebabs…
    how did it get there..

Enjoy your bacon and sausages “long time” in the morning,

It “velly velly good” with hypocrisy sauce.

  19.

Too late to boycott the games, is it?

You mean, I have to watch it on TV and I have to buy the merchandise, or else?

    Shit, I didn’t realise that.

  20.

Is it too late to boycott the Magners League because those fuckers from Leinster keep exclaining
“absolutely” aphros of nothing, before every sentence..?

  21.

    Good Day Sir!

I have recently found out that your against of the upcoming 29th Beijing Summer Olympics in August 2008 and so, i have here an article from the NEWSWEEK© to update you some information:

    THE LAST WORD
    Tibet’s Holy Man In Waiting

Born into a nomadic Tibetan family in 1985, Apo Gaga was 7 years old when he was proclaimed the 17th Karmapa: the latest reincarnation of the head of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. That made the child the religion’s third highest leader, after the Dalai and Panchen Lamas. He soon began a rigorous training program. Then, at the age of 14, after the Karmapa started to find Chinese control suffocating, he made a daring escape by helicopter and horseback to Dharamsala, India, seat of the Tibetan government in exile. There he’s continued his training in earnest. Given the Dalai Lama’s age, he’s just 73, the length of time it will take to name a successor and the disappearance of the Panchen Lama in 1995 (China was anxious to control the selection of his reincarnation), many assume the young Karmapa could soon become Tibetan Buddhism’s most-senior figure. On the eve of his 23rd birthday, the monk spoke to NEWSWEEK’s Sudip Mazumdar about his recent trip to America, the global pro-Tibet protests and boycotting the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

How do you see calls to boycott the Beijing Olympics?
China is a big country and does not belong only to the Communist Party. It belongs to the Chinese brothers and sisters. The world needs to give them more chances and opportunities to show their growth and express their views. The Olympics are such a chance. I am not for the boycott, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama is also [against of boycotting the games].

    …..

You see sir, instead of boycotting the Games of the 29 th Olympiad, we must support the BOGOC to have a more peaceful Summer Games that will create peace & harmony throughout the world….

    including China & Tibet…

Thank you for your time sir,

Concerned Citizen for a peaceful world

    :)

  22.

DAMN I AM SO SO HAPPY POLLUTION,LOCUSTS, TRAFFIC, AND THE FACT THAT THE CHINESE GOVERMENT COULD NOT TEACH THEIR FUCKING IDIOT CITIZENS ANY ENGLISH BEFORE THE GAMES
THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST YEAR FOR CHINA WITH EARTHQUAKES AND THEIR CURRECY BECOMING STRONG TO OTHER FOREIGN CURRENCIES BRINING DOWN BUSINESS FOR THE COUNTRY WITH REGARDS TO THEIR MAIN STAY EXPORTS

NOW THEIR ARE HOPING THE GAMES GO WELL I HOPE THE ATHLETES GET BREATHING PROBLEMS AND FOOD POISONING AND OTHER DISEASES .

I FEEL COMPELLED TO PUT FROGS IN THE SWIMMING VENUE

I HOPE YOU GUYS SCREW UP THE GAMES AND ARE LAUGHED UPON YOU FUCKING CHINESE SHITS.

  23.

Giving the games to China was a big thank you from the multinationals who are creaming massive profits from Chinese workers do not forget that they gave the games in 1936 to Germany

  24.

These Olympics should be called the Back to the Future Games. Think 1936 and Berlin and the Nazis already had a massive rap sheet. Did appeasement help? No! Is it helping with the Chinese regime? No!

If I was one of the athletes I’d take a pass on this year. That’s because of self-preservation with that regime. These clowns are liable to lace the food with just enough to come up positive. while the Chinese athletes are kept clean. That way if they don’t win they can demand a blood test and win by reverse-cheating.

And don’t forget the human rights rap sheet long enough to cover the Marathon’s course.

Those evictees received adequate compensations (based on housing market values then). The reason why some of them were protesting is because they didn’t want to give up their “premium lands” (the vaule of which would be greatly increased after the olympic”, greedy bastards.). Now whether or not they were “kicked out” depends on what dictionary you are using, however they were certainly not left out to die of starvation. Many of them, especially in cities, have much higher living standard than you think. (its the chinese people who live in rural areas (country sides) are making ends meet – hence chinese refugees in north america.)

As far as tibet issue, read this unbiased article by Michael Parenti.
    http://www.swans.com/library/art9/mparen01.html

Just out of curiousity, how many of you actually know the history of Tibet, or better yet, where Tibet (XiZhang in mandarin) geographically located? Or the only reasons why you are commenting on tibet’s issues are : 1) it makes you feel more superior. 2) because your media, eg, CNN, says so. 3)your grandparents told yo the commies were evils.

Frankly I have no interest of talking about the western governments (i got better things to worry about) but if you keep bringing up human right topic for the sake of bashing china, then how about asking the iraqis and the people in Guatemala what they think of your goverment? hmm.. better yet, ask the native americans…

    typical western hypocrite.

  33.

Just out of curiosity, did you know that this country is Ireland, not America?

  34.
Just out of curiosity, did you know that this country is Ireland, not America?
no, i did not but it doesnt matter because you are a part of the west that takes shot at china at every opportunity. Luckily most chinese do not give a flying hoot about what you think.

  35.

    Really?

if you don’t care what I think, why did you leave such a long comment here?

  36.

i defend CCP NOT because they are free of guilt (corruption, abuse of power, etc) but because they, in the past 30 years, have brought hundreds of millions chinese out of poverty. Tell me how many governments can do that?
as for your comment, I said “most people” which implies people live in china. I doubt they are searching the net for mr.bock’s blog entries.

  37.

Chen, – There is no way that Xiaoping Zhang beat Ken Egan in the light heavyweight Olympic final, simply no way.
Just out of curiosity, did you know that this country is Ireland, not America?
-Hearing an Irish person talk about atrocities is just contradictory in nature *cough*Irish Republican Army commits atrocities*cough*
by the way, Ireland isn’t a country

-Not everyone is a slave the media, at least listen to both sides of the story before coming to a rational opinion.
I HOPE YOU GUYS SCREW UP THE GAMES AND ARE LAUGHED UPON YOU FUCKING CHINESE SHITS.
-If you weren’t a terrorist (mahesh is probably a terorrist name), I’d feel insulted.

How does it feel to have your own culture attacked?
