Not far from here. Various places in the Burren, except for the 11th pic, which I took a couple of weeks ago at the harbour in Mountshannon, on Lough Derg.

Hey Bock, nice shots. I know ya have the D40, so if I might recommend an aul book. It’s been really helpful to me. Understanding Exposure, (http://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Exposure-Photographs-Digital-Updated/dp/0817463003/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207784367&sr=8-1) Concise, well written, great examples and tips that help you to remember what you exposures work for what i.e stop down 2/3 of what your camera says if the picture is filled with a lot of green foliage, or use the sky to figure an exposure rather than the subject.

Very nice, its a great time of the year to get a good range of light qualities. You might want to check this guys landscapes of Ireland. Professional and some playing with the images too but very very tasteful. http://www.flickr.com/photos/madrarua/sets/72157594477129813/ ….not for the homesick!

Cowardblogger: I’m flattered. I never thought this thing would be so successful that someone would set up a Bock the Robber hate site.

I see from your IP address that you’re in New Jersey (or maybe your Irish employer’s HQ is based there). Never thought somebody at the far side of the Atlantic would be that interested in a little Irish blogger.

Thanks again! I’ve listed you in the blog roll imediately.

Ha ha. That coward site is hilarious. And it’s just as well-informed, articulate and hard-hitting as Bock’s. Some real competition there! He called you a ‘moran.’ Do you like oysters?

Also, where are all the feuding galoots and shallow graves in these pictures? You said they were taken near Limerick. I heard the whole town was under martial law. (So I’m not going outside.)

I want to state categorically that I am not a Moran, although I have a very good friend of that name. Not only that, but I always thought Kevin Moran was a fine sportsman and I hated to see him getting sent off that time in the Cup Final.

and where are all the comments in there? none.

Bock, (or whoever you are), I think you’re great. I don’t always agree with you - not that it matters, and I think you’re brill. And extremely funny when you choose to be.

Wouldn’t an ‘interpretive centre’ be an addition to all that aul scenery? :)

    Captions, Bock, we need captions.

I recognize Kilmacduagh (the round tower with the slant) just outside Gort, and it looks like you were on Corkscrew Hill too.

And is that the Martello tower at Finvarra Point, along the Flaggy Shore ? If it is, you’re looking at the best place in the west to pick blackberries in Autumn. and that cliff in the distance (tot he left of the tower) is Silver Strand in Galway.

    Great shots.

Ah no. Captions would take the fun out of it.

Lovely shots, Bockles. In that first one I keep expecting Edmund Blackadder (Series1) to pop his head over the wall. It’s got a crow and everything.
