Munster Rugby

Posted on Saturday, April 26, 2008

Look, I just wanted to explain.  This weekend is an important one here in Limerick, as Munster go to meet Saracens in the semi-final of the Heineken Cup.  That would be the European Cup, y’know?

We won it two years ago, and I was there, at the final in Cardiff with my boy, the Bullet.  I don’t know if we’ll be there again this year, but I hope we will, and if we do I’ll be going back with my boy.  Now, I’m not going to put any bad voodoo on the game by making rash predictions, but I’ll tell you this.  The game is on in Coventry, over there in England, and Saracens come from over there in England.  They’re based in Watford, and they don’t have to fly or sail on a ferry to get to the game.  All they have to do is drive.

Despite that, it appears that 5,000 tickets have been sold to Saracens supporters, over there in England, while 20,000 tickets have been sold to Munster supporters over here in Ireland.  Mostly over here in Limerick.

So there you go.  Looks like the old town is going to be empty again, leaving us with a big decision: what pub to watch it in?

Well i shall be in Mickey Martins for it..and there is a chance there’ll be music played by a special guest after the match…

They have a good chance of going through me thinks..

It amazes me the ongoing missed opportunity that is Harris’s for watching matches.

OD: I might look into Martin’s after the game, see if the entertainment is any good.

    Dan: Isn’t Harris’s closed?

Hey Bock, we also got Shannon-Garryowen abroad in Connagh next Saturday in the AIL semi, and they need support you know. I watched the club game this year and the crowds just aren’t going to the games anymore.

That’s a Shannon front row in red with a couple of guys from Con and the Cookies in the second row, and Wally is a Garryowen fucker and Quinny won AIL medals with Shannon too. And Leamy should have played with Shannon cause he’s our type of guy. And ROG is a CCC too(third C is important) , Dowelers won a Transfield cup medal with Shannon the year before he starting playing with the red madness, and Hurley played with UCC didn’t he. And the NZ lads would have been more then welcome in Angela Conway.

You see my point, don’t you Bock.

Munster abu, a boy da kid.

Sniffle: Ok. We’ll have to go to Coonagh and shout for Shannon. I’m certainly not shouting for Garryowen.

Bock, I wasn’t aware it was. The last time I was in there was for the six nations.
