Heart Like A Wheel

What about a sad song to cheer us up after all that serious political shit.

Here’s Linda Ronstadt and the McGarrigles with an oldie but a goodie.

  1. that song brought a big sigh, sugar…i haven’t heard heart like a wheel in a very long time.
    xox

  2. Would you laugh at me if I told you what my favorite Linda Ronstadt song was?

  3. Of course not

  4. Love that lady. Haven’t heard that song in ages. What a voice and a reminder that the 70’s weren’t bad at all (once you blank out the clothes)

She really brought out the best in that country-rock genre. My favs were her versions of “Distant Drum”, “Desperado” and whenever Ronan Collins plays some of those Mexican folk songs she has made her own.

  5. Sliver Threads and Golden Needles, belted rather loudly after a bottle of wine….

    :-)

  6. Not a bad choice at all, Eliza. Open another bottle.

  7. … what ’serious political shit’ ????

    Super video selection.

  8. Does anyone else think that Ronan runs a fine radio show ? Always interesting. Or is it just my age ?

  9. Yeah. I think he runs a terrific show. Why – did Ronan play this as well?

  10. He will if he gets a request Bock. Any excuse to give Linda Ronstadt a spin and he’s on for it, must email the show to ask him to give “Heart Like A Wheel” an airing. He seems to prefer her Mexican songs but I’m sure he’ll oblige.

Wrinkley, I know people of all ages who have great time for Ronan’s radio show. Unfortunately few of them are in RTÉ. The man should be given back the 2 hour Afternoon slot instead of that moron Mooney with his wildlife show – fucks sake who can listen to that everyday. He (Mooney) must be related to the DG or have the goods on someone.

How Ronan still manages to squeeze so much into the miserable 50 minutes or less he gets is testament to his good taste in music.
