Andrew hanlon Police Investigation
Posted on Thursday, August 14, 2008There’s a possibility that the AJ Hanlon case may not have been as successfully buried by the Silverton authorities as they hoped, though at this stage I have to say it’s no more than a possibility.
It appears that the Oregon State Police may have assigned investigators to the case, and if you have any information you think might be helpful to their inquiry, the man to send it to is Lt Steve Duvall of the Oregon State Police, Major Crimes Section.
This is his email address: steve.duvall@state.or.us

Hey Bock,
Can you tell me where you came across this information.
Sounds like there could possibly be heads about to roll.
I certainly hope so.
Would appreciate the info,
Thanks

I’ll sit on that for the moment if you don’t mind. Let’s just watch and wait.
Nothing at all might come out of it.

As a law enforcement officer in a neighboring state I am much relieved to hear that O.S.P. is getting involved. Some of the details emerging are very disturbing and the ‘investigation’ so far stinks to high heaven. This is precisely the kind of thing that gives us all a bad name.If the officer involved in the shooting is innocent of wrongdoing then he has nothing to fear from a full, frank and detailed investigation by the state. Mr.Hanlon’s family should also have the benefit of an investigation.
It may take some time but Justice will be done. There are still a few of us old-timers out here who really believe that.

Well, there you go. This thing stinks. If the Oregon State authorities can’t see what’s obvious to the whole world, then you’d have to ask why, wouldn’t you? You’d have to ask why the state authorities can’t see what everybody in the entire world is able to see.
This stinks.
Do you need to be Einstein to figure that out?
I don’t think so. I’m sitting five thousand miles away and I can see exactly what went on in that fucked-up little town. I can see exactly what sort of dynamics are taking place in that tiny community.
It shouldn’t be too hard for the Oregon cops to add two and two together and come up with four.
Or should it?
I reckon some people in Silverton would be well advised to reconsider the story they put about after Andrew was executed. I think some people in Silverton have every reason to contemplate the lies they told and regret what they said.
In my opinion, some people in Silverton should be be very worried indeed if the Oregon State police are actually investigating this case, and I’ll tell you why.
The OSP would not be wasting their time investigating these matters unless they thought Andrew had been killed unlawfully.
Andrew was killed by people who believed they were above the law. Andrew Hanlon was executed. Andrew was cut down like a dog, because certain people thought they could get away with such murders, and that the authorities would ignore it.
Those people are criminals and should get get jail. I understand that Oregon still has a death penalty but I wouldn’t advocate murdering Andrew’s killers.
In most civilised societies, we don’t execute people, unlike the United States.
Be afraid, Silverton.

dear “statie” i am so encouraged to read your
post, it brought tears. so far, no agency seems to want involvement with a case that is this blatently corrupt. the facts of what happened to andrew go well behond the silverton police department, or the officer said to have been responsible for shooting andrew. i became committed to finding answers on july 3rd, because i knew from 2 days after andrew’s death, there was something terribly wrong with how this was being handled and also because of what i heard/saw the night of june 30th compared with what the public was being told. i am not, nor have i ever been a
“police hater” but what i do hate is injustice,
and rationalizing the killing of a young troubled artist by putting all blame on the victim, in order to cover lies and ommisions by the people who caused this needless murder. please, won’t you help us have this case re-opened, so that andrew’s soul can see the light of justice,
and so that other young adults in this tiny community won’t also fear for their own lives, as they now do? these are good decent kids who live in silverton, and they deserve community protection, not death~just as andrew did.
andrew hanlon was a fine young irish lad who was having a mental meltdown on the night he was killed and he never had a chance with
the situation. are there any people in law enforcement you can reach, who
would take an unbiased fresh look into this investigation? i feel it is vitally important for this case to be re-opened soon. thank you from every person in silverton, who supports
the brave words you have spoken here, and from each one of us who know your sincerity to be true.

Dear Statie,
I have to say it lifted my heart to know there are still good guys like you out there.
What the family need are people like you to speak out and make your voices heard.
I suppose their biggest problem is they are fight the establishment, the powers that be, the guys with unlimited resources.
Its hard to battle for justice against that.
But with the help and assistance of people like you it could be achieved.
But will you and people like you be willing to step forward and help the Hanlon-Carroll Family…….I sincerely hope so.
I hope for Andrew’s sake and the family’s sake people find the courage to tell the truth of the events of the night of the 30th of June, when a younge Irish boy was gunned down on the streets of Silverton and left to die a lonely death.
I hope for Andrew’s sake and the family’s sake people like ‘Statie’ are willing to come forward with help and advice or voice their concerns to the powers that be, there has to be something these people can do.
Anyone out there who has been reading these blogs over the past 6 weeks who knows what happened that night , you must come forward now and tell your story.
But whatever you do dont tell your story to the Police, go to the familys Lawyers Crew,Kelly and Donoghue, I think they are in Portland.
Dont let Andrew’s killing no Murder fade away to become yet another statistic in the books.
The books filled with lies of ‘Justified Shootings’ by the Police force.
But it must also be said that not all police officers are bad, there are good guys out there like ‘Statie’, who unfortunatly are sullied by the behaviour of the few.
IF you do NOTHING now, remember next time it could be you, your son/daughter, your brother/sister or your friend.
ACT NOW……………
