Short Fuse
Posted on Thursday, August 28, 2008I’m not nearly as mild-mannered and easy-going in real life as you’d think I am from reading this site.
I know you find that hard to believe. I know you’re thinking How could our kind and patient Bock the Beloved possibly have a bad bone in his saintly body?
Yes. I know. I can see how you might be wondering that, and it amazes me too, sometimes, but the fact is that I can occasionally be a little ill-tempered.
No. Genuinely. It’s true. Yes, this will leave you baffled, but the fact is, I’m not perfect.
I have a short fuse and when something pisses me off, you’ll know it. I don’t do simmering resentment very well. Instead, I do exploding in rage, which is usually a healthy thing, but not always. Sometimes I should just bite my tongue.
Sometimes in a fit of anger I’m too harsh, and then I don’t know how to take it back.
Fuck it, what can I say?
I could try to change, but then I’d be someone else.

You should try it sometime…I’ve been a doctor, an airline pilot, a high ranking diplomat at times to great effect with young, beautiful, gullable American tourists.
