Democracy is Coming to the USA? I don’t Think So, Lenny
Sep 30th, 2008 | By Bock | Category: Politics, WorldI don’t know, Lenny. I just don’t know. Back in 1992, your song was an anthem of hope, but that was before eight years of Cheney and his dancing chimp.
From over this side of the Atlantic, it doesn’t look like democracy is coming. It looks more like a military dictatorship is on the way.
(Thanks to Johnny in New York for sending me this link. Hang in there, Johnny. There’s always a place for you across the pond if things get too ugly in the Free World).

The video is no longer available (at least from where i am).
Things are indeed lookin scary over there. It has been predicted for a long time by the likes of infowars, and prisonplanet, and i am very concerned about the reports of FEMA internement camps.
Not to be alarmist, but could we be looking at a new third reich ? I hope not. I suppose time will tell
Nicky — Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve changed it to a different video.
at least perhaps in the past it was true, when they were bringing liberty during the WWII, but now, it really seem that US is bringing worldwide disorder.
The New World disOrder
I guess there’ll only be only one solution. Vote yes to the Lisbon treaty, form a European Army and go and free the americans. Land on the beaches as it were (or will be). They’ll welcome us as liberators. They’ll throw flowers at us. Won’t it be grand… and yet somehow familiar…
Well, at least the last time that type of thing happened there was no dodgy financial dealings, you can ask Prescott Bush, Dubya’s grandpappy…
Eh Bock, I think the plan is to take the rest of the world once Cheney has declared himself Emperor.
This is one of the best articles I’ve read on the whole Sarah Palin thing: http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/17504
I think I might have linked to that article in an earlier post. It’s a great rant and spot on as well.
I don’t know why but this is making me cry hard. Funny mood today or something. The music maybe. I’ve seen these world trade center images time and time again since it happened and yet today it’s got me bawling.
I have to believe there are still good people amongst our leaders and i know there are good people in America. It just seems they get drowned out in the God-awful din. Christ, this is ridiculous, I’m supposed to go out in a minute adn I’m all fucking pink and snotty.
To the best of my knowledge, that’s the first time this site has made anybody cry.
Curse, yes. Spit, yes. Perhaps even laugh now and then.
But cry?
Jesus.
problemchildbride might be right to cry (not because of your site, Bock, obviously).
Fuck, even I’d cry if Ireland looked like ending up under a military dictatorship, instead of the slightly less saddening conspiracy of incompetence (the Gobshitecracy).
The active duty army unit now in place in the US, has undergone crowd control training with non lethal weapons. A first in army history
We all know what the cops are like in their crowd control/fish-in-a-barre techniques, now imagine that they had just come back from their third tour in Iraq. Scary stuff.
I sincerely hope it doesn’t go that far.
Anyway, it’s not breaking news but here’s a detailed article if anyone wants more info;
http://www.uruknet.de/?p=m47519&hd=&size=1&l=e
I think the most interesting thing is that i couldn’t find any mainstream media references to it. It must be the less is more technique..
Nicky — It looks worrying. I mentioned the deployment of the military in a previous post HERE
I know Bock, that’s where I heard it first! I was focusing more on the fact that even though the benign Hurricane katrina/rescue worker side of it will surely be the image sold to people, this unit has had specific training with “non-lethal” weapons and crowd control. They’re most definitly not there to rescue cats from trees.
These men are trained to kill, not to calm. The fact that they’re armed with tasers would do nothing to reassure me.
Problemchildbride,
I feel the same. I was working the night shift when it happened; west coast time it was still o-dark thirty, I saw it on the telly in a patient’s room. Very scary, esp when you have family living/working in the area.
Troubling information with the whole military issue, and where things may be going…
well, this video is great, excellent edit…and what`say about Cohen ??
genius …
