    So you’ve heard of our gas shortage, right? Brought about by hurricane Ike, and speculators, and assmonkeys going up and fueling up on gas?

    Well, most of the southeast is having supply problems, and to that end, no one can get gas for their cars, and stores are running out and remaing out for days on end.

    Of the thirty or so gas stations between the office and my house, not a single one has any gas.

    I have enough gas remaining in my Jeep to get home (enough gas to go seven non hwy miles).

    We passed a gas station this morning which gave the illusion of having gas – people were lined up at the pump and into the street outside – but they were waiting for the delivery truck. There was no gas there. It’s insane. LimGal waited for an hour, and then the station ran out. There is one pipeline that services all the southeast – with refined gas from texas – so we have a huge supply problem – when Ike hit it evidently knocked out the electricity to the refineries that supply us with refined gasoline.

    Joy.

    But; I’m delighted the bailout failed. I don’t want to create another program like the FDIC because industries can’t police themselves.

    Looks like the old supply and demand boys have found another reason to once again up the price.
    I heard about Lindsey Williams book, the Energy Non-Crisis. In it he, about how he worked in Alaska as a pastor for the oilfield workers there, and he became aware of huge undisclosed oilfields, on Gull Island i believe. Here’s a talk he gave.
    As if you weren’t pissed off enough…

    People are twittering each other with gas stations with gas, for crying out loud.

    Hi Bock,
    I tried to post a link to an article, but it wouldn’t post. It was in Yahoo news on Russell Crowe’s idea that each American Citizen should be paid one million $ instead of the government bailing out those other jokers.
    I’ve had some emails talking about variations on this theme. I don’t know, sounds good to me! :)
