Are Russell Brand And Jonathan Ross A Pair Of Cowardly Pricks?

Is Russell Brand a cowardly prick and is Jonathan Ross another cowardly prick? It seems they were both on a radio show, and they left a message on an old man’s phone containing some sort of sexual innuendo about his grand-daughter, the cheeky devils!
I don’t know, but somehow there’s a bit missing from the joke.
I suppose it could be hysterically funny to bully an elderly man by sending him horrible voice messages, and to do this on a radio programme. I heard the recording of the two guys laughing at Andrew Sachs, and I have to say they genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves at the old codger’s expense.
But somehow, their joke is a bit like a Chinese meal, the way you still feel there’s something missing, no matter how much you swallow.
That’s how I feel about this gag from Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. Something is missing but I can’t quite put my finger on what it might be.
Let me think. Let me think. Let me — oh wait! I have it.
Here’s what’s missing: instead of a vulnerable old man, what about picking on a victim who would be capable of kicking their teeth in?
That’s it. The two comedians could call up some tough fucker like Vinnie Jones, sneer at his family and he could come around to the studio and smash their faces in.
Balance, you see.
Then it would be funny.

They’ve gone nuts in Britain. Their Prime Minister made a statement on it and now the Conservative party wants to have a parliamentary debate.
Meanwhile, a BBC executive has been sacked, Russell Brand has resigned and Jonathan Ross has been suspended until January, costing him a million pounds.
As I said, the Brits have gone bonkers.
Unfunny, disrespectful, overpaid twats Bock. (What makes it all the more galling is that one of the pricks has the same name as me !) He did a gig here recently and thought it funny to phone the police while on stage to say that he’d seen a wanted man – you may have seen his “apology” for that as well. Prick.
i think everyone is slightly over-reacting to this.

Should they apologize? Definitely.
Worth everyone getting their knickers in a twist, and the UK parliament possibly tabling a motion on it? Hardly.

I think it’s worth getting worked up about it. I think it shows how much we’ve forgotten about decent behaviour, especially towards old people.
These idiots are arch wankers. I never understood the appeal of Jonathan Ross. He has always got off on being extremely rude to people and thinking it’s funny. Time to drop his vastly inflated contract, I think.
Jonathan Ross was always a bully, it’s about time people started caring about how he intentional tries to hurt people’s feelings. I can’t believe he’s so popular, no wonder there’s so much bullying in English schools with likes of him on the tv. It’s disgraceful!
No prude me but what passes for comedy must be a real source of annoyance to people who really ARE funny as opposed to people like Brandt and Jonofan Woss who ARE ARSEHOLES!
If what I heard of this passes for “entertainment” on UK radio these days, maybe I won’t be so critical of RTÉ or TodayFM et al in future.
A publicity stunt gone wrong for Brand who has just had a disastrous tour of the US. As fo’ Jonnydin Woss, how someone with his affliction thinks he can ridicule anyone with this juvenile crap is a twue mistuwy.
If this had happened on late-night show and the pair of them were langers there could be some explanation. But this was recorded, then passed by some obviously awe-struck producer as a piece of comedy by Elmer Fudd and his sidekick ???…. and what part was supposed to be the punchline ?
I think the punchline was “and then the old guy started crying”.
I’m telling you, those boys are truly gifted.
I went and listened to it on youtube and was disgusted by the way these two maturity stunted gobshites behaved. Like two thick tossers down the back of the class. I didn’t like that prick Ross anyway but i had never heard of Brand (thanks for that Bock). Everything about the guy annoys me, the stupid voice, the hysteria he tries pass off as comedy, the ignorant attitude of a spoilt, pampered child. Even if he’d been talking about football I would have wanted to smash his face in. And unfortunatley, all this will probably help their careers. There’s no such thing as bad publicity, but only if no-one knows where you live.
Bock – to answer your question – yes. Mr. Sachs has kept his dignity throughout – he will always be a more popular persona as Manuel than those two will ever be, and remember that FT only had twelve episodes.

its not the first time brand has claimed to shagged someone he had not. remember rod stewart giving him a dressing down over his daughter? ross and brand behaved like juvenile kids. to make matters worse, the item was pre recorded and deemed okay by the powers that be. this despite sachs efforts to stop the broadcast. the sad thing is this, if sach was not held in such fond regard by the public, would we have seen such an outcry? somehow i doubt it.

This morning Sky News are describing Brand as a sex-crazed ex-junkie. The Beeb won’t like that one bit – I would guess a parting of the ways is imminent. Hoever, on the Sky.com/news website, they say he DID sleep with the granddaughter in question, who also looks a proper plonker in her own right.

In his article Tatchell says that right-wing journalists used the story to attack the BBC, then goes on to descripe the BBC as a right-wing organisation. He also complains about the way this polemic has taken attention away from other more important issues (true), but decided to write his article about it anyway and mention briefly that it was taking attention away from more important issues. Bit strange that.
Ross and Brand are, in my opinion, are pair of twats. That’s a question of taste though. The suspension is a little too much. A good dressing down would probably have sufficed to let them know that they are not a power unto themselves (at least until they start their own station anyway)
