As pleased as I am with the outcome of the election, I have to remind the world, or at least the part of it reading here, that nearly 50% of the American population is of below average intelligence.

46% of the popular vote went to McCain.

Nearly half of my countrymen are either too oblivious to what has been going on or lack the capacity to figure out the cause of what has been going on. As recently as two days ago I heard a citizen say in all seriousness that she just couldn’t vote for Obama because “you know, he doesn’t wear the flag.”

The Bush/Cheney regime and the campaign have shown me what complete idiots people are capable of being. I think half of my country is not yet ready for Obama, it’s a good thing I think he is ready for them.

Don’t worry. Nearly 50% of every population is below average intelligence.

“Nearly 50% of every population is below average intelligence.”

Sure don’t we have some strange voters here too. Masochists. :)

As a card carrying memeber of the 50% marked below average intelligence, would that be

“50% of the American population is of below average intelligence”

    or

“50% of the American population are of below average intelligence”

Well half of them are below average intelligence and, not unexpectedly, so is 50% of the population.

But, as GW Bush once asked, is our children reading?

Yeah, O.K. the world is changed but more importantly…
…come one balmy night in January 2009, I’ll be stretched out on the grass in a vineyard in the Hunter Valley, east coast australia, listening to Mr Cohen and others.
May the moon be high and the evening still.
