Jesus christ those pictures are very hard to take but they have to be shown, regardless of whose right or wrong what animal would inflict that on children or even adults. How can the worlds people sleep at night knowing that this sort of thing is going on unpunished. What can we do bock, as in sending aid and donations. If people want to know why people grow up to be radicalised need they look any further.

System — I have no objection to prosecuting all those who commit war crimes. Do you?
Do you really believe that your pictures of Sderot are equivalent to what Gaza has experienced?
Can you imagine the size of the memorial needed to commemorate the Palestinians killed since January 2008.
Nobody is suggesting that Hamas is not perpetrating grave injustices on the civilians in the neighbouring areas of Israel but this is a matter of scale and the fact that the people of Gaza are imprisoned behind the wall and cannot escape. The defences erected at the Israeli schools would not be much use against the onslought of the last few weeks in Gaza.

On March 21, 1945, 18 RAF Mosquito aircraft bombed a school in Copenhagen, killing 86 children and 17 teachers.
There were, of course, no television pictures of this catastrophe, but you can imagine the magnificent propaganda they would have made for the Third Reich, with the accompanying text of how the brutal British had no compassion for the innocent young of Denmark.

Two things — the Myers piece was about an incident in WWII and as I said, we can discuss it another time if you wish. This topic is about Israel and Gaza.
Secondly, the comments section is for people’s own comments. I have no objection to links where people can read a piece in its original location, but I do not reproduce other people’s work in full on this site.
The incident Myres refers to on today’s Irish Independent during WW2 is in direct relation to what is happening in Gaza today.
It’s another red herring. It’s an attempt by Myers to muddy the waters by introducing the religious dimension again and attempting to confuse the issue.
This isn’t about Israel fighting Hamas. This is about innocent civilians trapped behind an Israeli wall, who can’t escape the bombardment.
That’s a war crime no matter how threatened the Israelis feel.

Here’s some things I have written about Arabs in a previous comment, which is an honest account of my opinions:

That is an honest statement of my views. I have never openly displayed any prejudice or racism here, unlike your ‘boycott Jews’ comments.
People — I have already said many times that this is not about any individuals. Ad hominem argument gets us nowhere. This is about what’s happening in Gaza.
So please, everybody, stop questioning the other guy’s credibility. It’s stupid, it’s dishonest and I’m sick of it.
If anyone came here just to have a fight, they came to the wrong place. I want to deal with issues, not provide a forum for stupid pissing-contests.
i made the boycott Jews comment on the “Israeli Goods” article on this site.
and although bock states that boycott was never mentioned in the article, it was pretty clear that it was his intention.
i stand over it………i will boycott all products made in isreal or by companies which invest in isreal.
it is the same as sanctions which is a powerful weapon that can be utilized by anybody who feels strongly about an issue.
and when isreal atones, then i will cease my boycott.
so you see, i do not hate isreal, i just despise their current actions.

Jacksnipe, you spoke of boycotting Jews, not just Israelis. You said ‘the only way to hurt a Jew is in his pocket’ as well as decrying the fact Intel is a ‘Jew controlled/owned company’ and stating Jews kill more than they save despite the list of medical breakthroughs attributal to us. That’s ignorance on a danm high level.

I made a post called Israeli Goods to see where it would go, and look: it’s already at 100 comments. It’s amazing the way people see what isn’t there. Despite the complete absence of the word Boycott, isn’t it interesting how lively the discussion has been?
