PSNI Chief Constable Replacement

Apr 16th, 2009 | By Bock | Category: Policing, gardai

Hugh Orde is due to step down as Chief Constable of the PSNI, and now I hear speculation that he might be replaced by a member of the Gardaí, but I think this is unlikely.

Why?

Because a basic requirement of the job is the ability to talk without dribbling, that’s why.

  1. Issues BOCK, you appear to have issues!

  2. Even the Nordies have heard of Donegal, Bock, where strange things happen when people put on blue uniforms.

  3. Hugh Ord is a hands on guy.He had no issues concerning meetings with our so called”Republicans”.No airs or graces. He was also up to the job.If and when he fucked up,he admitted same.
Do we have anyone of that calibre?

  4. I have never yet heard a member of the Gardaí do anything but grunt, mutter and obfuscate. When talking to the media, they’re incapable of uttering two coherent sentences in a row. Their siege mentality borders on the paranoid, and their rudeness to the public is legendary. It’s almost impossible to imagine them admitting a mistake.

It’s hard to see one of them replacing Hugh Orde.

  5. Like the Garda in Letterkenny who so rudely obstructed some joyriders? I reckon Jerry McCabe uttered a few grunts while he was riddled with bullets from AK 47s fired accidentally into his car in Adare…

  6. Not like either of those guards. More like the ones who really are rude to the public and the ones who have no interest in fighting crime.

I wouldn’t be quoting Donegal as a shining example of policing.
