The gig was a fundraiser for charity and a birthday party for one of our favourite people. The mood was mellow. The people were laid back. The crowd was composed of musicians and music-loving people.
It was nice. It was cool. It was relaxed.
And it was raided by the idiot Gardaà who had nothing better to do, even though our town is beset by criminals and drug dealing scum.
They shut it down.
This was the strategic analysis of our half-witted police force: Let's close down a pub full of peace-loving, song-singing, non-violent adults, and let's not bother our lazy fucking arses fighting real fucking crime.

It's a downright farce the way they prey on soft targets.
you know they will have some excuse to back up the reason for such a raid, albeit after hours, drugs, no licence etc. They will say they are entitled to do such things. Even is someone goes and makes a complaint against them for whatever reason, it will go unnoticed and even going as far as the Ombudsman is a waste of time. Garda Joe Dope down the road will investigate and it will probably be fobbed off due to lack of evidence and some little garda upstart is free to do it again because they didn't breach any regulations! They can basically do what they like. I see it every day of the week in my line of work. They turn a blind eye to establishments frequented by actual criminals, because they don't want to get on the wrong side of their informers. It's a sad state of affairs.
I've met the likes of you before. Musiciany types and arty ones. It's always somebody else doing the troublemaking, isn't it?
