Head Shops To Close
By Bock Mar 3rd, 2010 | | Category: Crime
Dear Minister
On behalf of my members, I wish to thank you for taking into account the points which our association has put to you over recent weeks and for acting on them so promptly.
The illegal drug-dealing industry has formed the backbone of the economy in Council housing estates for generations. Our family-run businesses inject liquidity by means of their ancillary money-lending activities, and have supported the real-estate trade by purchasing houses and permitting the original owners to continue living in them, without the necessity for complex paperwork.
In addition, the proceeds of this traditional industry have facilitated the purchase of many high-end four-wheel-drive vehicles, ensuring that staff in the motor trade remain in lucrative employment.
I might mention in passing that the industry has been instrumental in securing a bright and profitable future for the parallel equestrian industry, and for the manufacturers of associated racing equipment and racing carts.
Sportswear firms rely almost entirely on our industry for their sales and in addition we have provided a secure living for countless jewellers and their staff throughout the country.
Therefore, Minister, may I, on behalf of my members, offer you hearty congratulations for your far-sighted decision to place the sale of recreational narcotics exclusively in the experienced hands of our members.
Yours Sincerely
John Blowpipe
Secretary
National Association of Drug-Dealing Scumbags (NADDS)

Take,take,take!! X
Bloody NADD, another bloody quango! I gues the lost revenue in from issuing haulage licences is more important factor than first thought in these times of recession. Apparently Fianna Fail have decided to go with a grass roots economy after all.
The Joe Duffy syndrome strikes again. How is this law going to be effective. Cant the chemists who make the drugs just tweak the chemical formula a wee bit and the new product is legal?
Maybe my tongue-in-cheek detector is broken, or is this post actually serious?
Need to know before I say anything further.
What do you think?
I think the post is either tongue in cheek, or you really believe that banning head shops or their products is going to benefit the illegal drug trade.
Although I am leaning toward the former, I’m not sure, and I don’t want to bark up the wrong tree. As I’m sure maby here are painfully aware, I tend to write long rambling posts and before I do, I’d rather be sure I’m not coming across as a muppet who missed the point.
Pre-emptive snark defence: Yes, I do come across as a muppet anyway from time to time ;)
Steve — I think this has created a bizarre situation. The government and the drug dealers are in agreement, though their methods are different. The government will close the head shops by legislation while the drug dealers have already taken more direct action by burning them.
All I’d say is this: once the head shops are gone, who benefits?
The best chance to put a big squeeze on the drug dealers. Not to mention the income for the government and the tourist industry.
“All I’d say is this: once the head shops are gone, who benefits?”
The Publicans – I’d say they have had a bigger influence in this decision then that tool Joe Duffy…..
The publicans dont like the idea of people getting stoned at home and buying their much cheaper alcohol from the supermarkets/off licences.
Long live the black Market – we’d be fucked without it……
Here’s a place a lot may not be aware of. Worth checking out.
