Statistics Update

Bock statistics remain stubbornly buoyant despite the miserable outlook throughout the country, and I thought you might be interested to see how you have helped the growth in the last twelve months or so.
Since March 2009, the number of individual readers per day has increased from an average of 2,113 to an average of 5,732.
That’s 5,732 different people every day reading the site, or to put it another way, 40,000 per week.
Some sites would translate that to 2 million readers a year, but I’d resist such temptation since it would be unrealistic.
5,732 a day will do fine.
(Note, the March 2010 monthly totals are based on 8 days only and are reduced accordingly)

By way of further improvement might I suggest a contact facility for people who might want to contribute stories to yourself for approval prior to publishing. If the news or stories are not up to scratch you just don’t publish them.
Also, a link for people to enquire about advertising might be useful.

Would all these visitors be slowing your site down – I’ve noticed it’s getting slow to load over the last few weeks. Its slow from both my work PC and Home PC so I dont think it’s slow my end.

FME: The error was a server maintenance thingy. They were probably upping capacity. Seems to be running fine now.

Bock, if your daily unique average is 5,732, then your total regular readership is quite a bit higher.
Some people will visit daily, some weekly, or bi-weekly, or whatever.
You’re likely got well over 10,000 regulars – probably a lot more than that.

Excellent stats but then I am not surprised as I get hours of enjoyment from reading the posts and peoples comments. Keep up the good work.

I notice that readership went up considerably since I started to write for btr. So where’s the fancy dinners and trips to Vegas you promised me you bollix?
