Ivor Callely Arrested Twice

In a joint operation with itself, the Garda Bilocation Unit has carried out simultaneous arrests of Ivor Callely in Dublin and Cork.

Supt Peadar Pio, joint head of the unit explained how the operation was carried out.  It was a double strike, he said.

That's right, he agreed.  A pincer movement.

Pincer movement, nodded Supt Pio.  That's right.

Officers from the unit swooped on the TD's principal residence in Dublin and his other principal residence in Cork, surprising Mr Callely as he prepared to leave the houses for his runs.

We didn't want to stigmatise the man, said Supt Pio.  Stigmatise the man, so we treated him with kid gloves. Gloves.

When asked if Mr Callely had been given an opportunity to call his lawyer, Supt Pio and Supt Pio were adamant that had been given every opportunity to seek assistance.

He had a phone.  And he had a phone.  And he had a couple more besides, but he was only allowed to make two calls, Supt Pio confirmed.

One reporter put it to Supt Pio that Callely's arrest on the same day as bondholders had been paid €1.25 billion was a deliberate political distraction.

Certainly not!  insisted the Garda spokesman.  I'm beside myself with anger at that suggestion.  Beside myself at that.  Certainly not.

Mr Callely is currently being questioned at Store Street and Fitzgibbon Street garda stations, after which he is expected to be released in two phases.

This Callelly geezer is just an out and out Fianna Fail crook and one of the worst of that mould. He deserves to be thrown in a dungeon.

Back to the medieval torture chamber I say for the likes of him and……Charlie Mc Creevey…and Cowen and of course one of the kingpins Bertie the Bollix. And while we're at it Seany Fitz the fiddler , Michael Fingers Fingleton, David 'Drumm up the loans'

I'm in such a good mood today
