Donations of art pieces continue to flood in for the art sale in the Hunt Museum next Thursday in support of the Mid-West Cancer Foundation.  The generosity of all the artists is simply staggering.

In case you haven’t heard about this before, the idea is simple: artists are donating their work at no cost, and the pieces are being offered at a price far below the figures they would normally command.  It means that you can go along to the Hunt Museum and pick up an original art piece for a very reasonable outlay.

This is the second year of Art for Cure in Limerick.   2012 was a huge success, raising €7,500 for the charity in only two hours, but sadly, some of those who were present are no longer with us.

Get along to the Hunt Museum next Thursday between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm.

Every penny of the proceeds will go to the Mid-West Cancer Foundation, which does such good work to help those living with cancer.

Bock,I am sorry to have to inform you of the sad passing on Tuesday of a great friend of this site,John Buckley. I dont know if he ever contributed, and if he did, under which pseudonym. He was a gifted artist himself and had been bravely battling the big c for some time.. He was a founder of the National German Shepherd Working Dog Association (GSA Ireland) and his knowledge, expertise and devotion to this wonderful breed, was, and is,recognised worldwide. May he rest peacefully.

Today, he shares his imaginative talents via brightly tinted as well as masterfully
carried out paints of daily Haitian life that offer little hint of the emotional as well as bodily grief
he recognized so totally throughout his early childhood years.
