Israeli Settlements

Jun 4th, 2009 | By Bock | Category: World

Once again, Israel has decided to thumb its nose, not only at its allies but at human decency.
What is wrong with these people? Where did their arrogance come from? How did they become so indifferent to basic morality? At the beginning of the year they bombarded their own concentration camp, Gaza, and ignored [...]

Israeli Elections – Will Tzipi Livni Walk to Power on a Sea of Blood?

Feb 10th, 2009 | By Bock | Category: Politics

As I watch the Israeli elections, it seems Tzipi Livni will head the largest party, Kadima.
At the beginning of the year, when Israel began its slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza, I suggested to you that the entire Gaza exercise was nothing more than an election effort for Tzipi Livni, and so it seems to [...]

Gig For Gaza

Feb 9th, 2009 | By Bock | Category: war

Thousands of people were maimed and 1300 killed during the most recent brutal Israeli assault on Gaza.

The obscenity continues.
In this video, Katharina Ritz, head of the ICRC mission in Israel and Palestine, tells of Israeli soldiers preventing ambulances from reaching victims.  Medics had to remove starving children and dead bodies on a donkey cart.
Other witnesses describe finding bodies that had been run over by Israeli tanks.

Also today we hear that the [...]

Jan 15th, 2009 | By Bock | Category: World, war

The UN compound in Gaza is in flames after Israeli forces shelled it with phosphorus.  All the food and medical supplies have been burned.  Thousands of tonnes of aid supplies including mattresses and shelters have been destroyed.

This is according to John Ging, the former Irish Army officer who heads the UN relief mission in Gaza [...]

Gazastan — The Present and the Future

Jan 14th, 2009 | By James Carr | Category: Favourites, World, war

In the New Years Day post, I focussed on the long-term underlying issues in Gaza, rather than joining the short term finger-pointing and blame game. The morality of the blame game is valuable to Israel and Hamas only in terms of affecting international opinion in their favour and to date they have each established [...]
